For CXC, she took POB, Office Procedures, History (+), HSB, Maths, English A, Social Studies (+) - After CXC, she took some courses in Public Relations, then onto to UWI Continuing Studies to do a certificate in HR. - Then she graduated with a degree in HR from SBCS in 2010. - She took some courses in Industrial Relations at Cipriani College. - She also took the Train-the-Trainer course at SBCS. - Keisha has ben a Guardian Life for 10 years, and she has been working as an HR Assistant for the last five years. - She would rate HR Assistant as 7/10. - The HR Department at Guardian Group is large with approximately twenty people. That means that it would be difficult for her to get a promotion. - She likes listening to people, and if she gets promoted to management, she would like to focus on employee relations. - Careers that Keisha has considered are: Journalism, Career where she could help people. - Keisha is looking into the Master's program in Business Psychlogy at UWI-Roytec (Franklin University). - I then discussed the results of the VoSCA-R assessment with Keisha, specifically her scores in the various categories of Interests, Intelligence Types, Values, and Work Styles. Takeaways from Session #1: - Keisha liked the process of doing the assessment she feels a little clearer about the process of career discovery. Action Plan from Session #1: - Keisha agreed to review the VoSCA-R report in more detail and research on the Internet using the O*Net Online Career Research Tool (www.onetonline.org) the recommended careers above which she scored 6 or more out of 10, and document her research in this password-protected blog under the section at the end called “Leave a Reply”.
