Career and Life Coaching Session #1: Saturday 26 May 2018

- Jeanine's E-mail address is jeanine_leechee@yahoo.com - She went to St. Joseph's Convent in San Fernando - For CXC, she did Maths, English A and B, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, French, Ad. Maths - For A Levels, she did Maths, Physics, Chemistry, GP - She was always intrigued with people's behaviour as opposed to the pure sciences. - She did a degree in Industrial Engineering at UWI and got a job in Oil and Gas, but she always knew that this was not her passion. - She has been at Atlantic Energy as an Operations Interface Analyst - She considered doing Dentistry and got accepted twice ten years ago. - She likes the autonomy in Dentistry, the good income and work-life balance but given her wrist injury, she is not sure if she has the manual dexterity needed for Dentistry. - Jeanine turned 35 this month and needs to make the change she has put thus off for the past 15 years. - I discussed the results of the VoSCA-R assessment with Jeanine, specifically her scores in the various categories of Interests, Intelligence Types, Values, and Work Styles. Career and Life Coaching Session #2: Saturday 16 June 2018

- Jeanine reviewed the selected careers which she scored 6.5 and above and was able to narrow done by job preferences further. - Industrial Organizational Psychologist/ Business Psychology remains a top interest. She visited the UWI Roytec website to read more about the courses offered in this program and noted the definition of Business Psychology (an understanding of what's behind the structure, behavior and environment of an organization). She noticed that she required prerequisite courses:

Introduction to Psychology
Basic Statistics (She recalls doing a statistics course in UWI - Industrial Statistics)

- She contacted UWI Roytec via email, and was told that the next student intake was August 2018. She said that if she meets the academic prerequisites for the Master's degree, she is strongly considering applying for it. - There are elements of this career that interests her. She get a sense that it can afford her the flexibility and autonomy that she desires. - The second career that peaked her interest is a Management Analyst (#19). The description reminds her a lot of elements of Industrial Engineering. - After researching Speech Language Pathologists further, she thinks that it may take too long to get her Master's (three years) for this profession. - With respect to Health and Wellness Coach, she is thinking this may not a primary career but maybe like a side profession similar to how she has an active wear business and used to instruct spin and zumba, or maybe she can combine all these and make a career out of it. - Whilst on the topic of instructors from reading up self-enrichment education teachers, this profession seems more in line with spin, zumba/dance instructors. Again something she can see herself doing part time but not as a main career.
